Learn to ride life‘s waves
If you’re here, it’s likely that your life is not going as you’d like it. I work with people whose relationships are in chaos and want to find the ground beneath their feet again. In my office, everything is relational. My clients know relationships are difficult. Sometimes its a matter of hanging in. Other times? Moving on. I help people get clear on the question of “What’s best for me?”. You’ll learn how to respond from the ground, rather than react reflexively, when things feel urgent. Things will make more sense. You’ll end up liking yourself and your life more.
Everything you’ve done and currently do, you’ve needed to in order to survive. That’s a ‘creative adaptation’. Together we figure out where these adaptations work and where they don’t. And, you’ll get better at being comfortable with being uncomfortable. That seems contradictory. It is. And, over time apparent contradictions will likely make more sense. Life will be tough again. With help, you’ll be better prepared to deal.
I offer Gestalt based, relational sessions that are always challenging, creative, and supportive, and sometimes even fun. With me you’ll feel, deal and live with what’s real. I specialize in acute and urgent situations offering longer sessions – like mini retreats from the chaos you’re in. They’re like a boot camp for your emotional well being and fitness. Whatever storm you’re facing right now will pass one way or another. And support makes it easier. You have all the tools you need to make it through. I can help you find them and teach you to use them effectively.

I’m a psychotherapist and artist. For over twenty five years, I have helped people take an unconventional approach to changing their lives.
Together, we get weird, explore with curiosity, embrace discomfort and figure out what works best for you so you have more authority in your life.
If you’re here, it’s likely that your normal isn’t working. More of your shitty normal won’t help you improve your life. Here, we embrace different and open up to weirdness. Change can be difficult. You have all the tools you need to make it happen. The change you seek is likely closer than you think.
I trusted Jim with my recovery. He saved my life Anonymous client
Jim’s form of therapy is collaborative. There was a lot of give and take. He pushed me and we worked through my instinct to retreat and shut down. I still think of some of our sessions daily. He helped me laugh again. There is no greater gift a person can give another than the ability to laugh again. Thanks Jim. Anonymous client
My company, Nulogy, worked with Jim to help prepare and facilitate an all-company retreat and workshop. Jim was very attentive and detailed oriented during the preparation of the workshop, and wanted to customize the content to make it most impactful. I found his greatest skills as a facilitator to be able to listen and improvise with the group. I believe Jim’s innately embodies a “servant leadership” style, being humble, trustworthy, caring and empowering. Attending our two-day workshop were several other speakers and members from our board of directors and advisory, who also felt Jim’s style to be unique, and the workshops themselves to be memorable. From the event, the team took away artwork that we all co-created, which personified Nulogy’s view of the future. Jason Tham, CEO Nulogy
